Established in the 1970's, the company has grown into one of the largest independent UK consultancies, with over a thousand staff operating internationally in over 30 cities around the world.
You would be working on a variety of projects with leading developers and clients, including commercial offices, education, hospitality, large transport hubs, and redevelopments.
They're currently working on major international aviation schemes, several commercial offices with the remit to remodel and decarbonise, and the CAT B fitout of some of London's prime office space for blue-chip clients.
They continue to have new build projects, including a major transport hub, a new-build Passivhaus school, and new offices in central London.
As part of their established team of expert engineers, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare detailed engineering designs.
You will work across a variety of sectors such as Aviation, Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, and Retail.
You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and will be supported towards Chartership.
Responsibilities: Produce engineering designs, calculations and specifications, using appropriate software, for design features that may include internal and external lighting, small and medium power & LV distribution, data/av, fire alarms, photo-voltaic technologies, battery storage and security.Supervise the production of technical drawings and check output.Prepare technical reports in accordance with clients' briefs.Ensure technically sound work consistently designed and delivered, in accordance with agreed deadlines and budgets.Work primarily under the supervision of more senior engineers.Work will be checked and verified by more experienced staff.Take responsibility for those aspects of project management and/or design work specifically delegated to you.May lead key elements of specific projects on a day-to-day basis, under the guidance and supervision of a more experienced team member.Provide informal mentoring of less experienced team members as required.Proactively manage your own professional development within the framework provided by accredited training agreements.Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specification, and highlight issues to the contractor, client and/or (internal or external) project manager as necessary.Correspond with external third parties (e.g., clients, contractors, architects and/or manufacturers) regarding information and technical queries.Delegate work to Technicians and/or Graduate Engineers as required, and provide feedback on completed work.Maintain awareness of the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets, at a level appropriate to your role.Comply with Environmental and Health and Safety procedures.Proactively manage your continuing professional development (including, where appropriate, actively pursuing Chartership with an appropriate professional institution).Requirements: Previous experience in an engineering consultancy.Knowledge of industry-standard software which may include Dialux, Relux, Amtech/Trimble, Revit and AutoCAD.Willingness to work towards achieving recognition as a Chartered professional.Interested?
