Permanent contract Graduate Entry Level: £25,000 - £28,000 1 – 5 Years Relevant Experience: £30,000 - £45,000 5 Years + Relevant Experience: £ 45,000 plus 40 Hours Standard Working Hours - 8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday (with opportunity for overtime) Workplace Pension with 4% employers' contribution Annual Holiday Entitlement of 25 days plus Public Holidays – Rising with service Training & Development Opportunities THE BUSINESS Westray Recruitment Group are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our client who are a reputable electrical and automation engineering firm operating in the marine, renewable energy, and offshore energy sectors. Based in Teesside, the company offers engineering, construction, and installation services to clients around the world. We are seeking skilled Electrical Design Engineers to join a growing team in marine and offshore services.
THE ROLE The responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
Preparing project documentation, such as the basis of design, detailed functional design specifications, and procedures for FAT, SIT, and SAT. Developing design concepts and generating comprehensive design documentation, which includes (but is not limited to) electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cabinet and panel layout drawings, I/O lists, 3D models, bills of materials, alarm lists, design reports, cause-and-effect matrices, and FMECA. Collaborating with the Purchasing team for equipment procurement, including preparing RFQs and technical specifications. Coordinating with the Production team to resolve issues related to design documentation and creating as-built drawings. Conducting start-up, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and, when necessary, site commissioning and integration testing. Compiling the final project close-out documentation package, which includes updated drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists. THE PERSON Skilled in E-Plan, 3D modelling, and simulation tools, you will oversee the transition of designs from initial concept to final implementation, and should be capable of developing specifications, designs, and calculations from the ground up, covering PLC/SCADA, power generation and distribution, and variable speed drive systems. Familiarity with control and automation software is a significant plus. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong numerical skills. Excellent interpersonal abilities and a passion for teamwork.
