About The Role Waldon Telecom, a part of M Group Services Telecom Division, is an essential infrastructure services provider to the mobile telecommunication sector in the UK.
We work on behalf of large mobile network operators to acquire, design, and construct mobile telecommunication base stations across the country.
Due to our continued success, we are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to be part of our Vodafone Design Team in the UK.
Having already started build works for Vodafone and winning further Design, Passive & Active Build works, we are now scaling our growth to meet client demand, and delivery top tier quality designs.
What will you be doing?
As the Electrical Design Engineer , you will create detailed electrical designs for both new sites / upgrades and provide relevant electrical information and expertise for the safe design of telecoms cell sites.
This role fits within Waldon Telecom's Vodafone Operations Team and will work collaboratively with the Vodafone Design & Build Teams What will your key responsibilities be?
Reading, understanding and interpreting client design specification documentation then acquiring the skills to apply them to site design.
Assisting in the delivery if high quality radio electrical design solutions.
Assisting in the completion of existing, proposed and occasionally interim Electrical Schematics ensuring that all elements of the power design are captured.
Drawing up of Electrical schematics using industry standard Electrical OM software electrical design software.
Developing understanding of relevant network elements, site build layout & architecture including all power systems on site client, site provider & external parties.
Developing skills to understanding complex sites and how they are affected during build & re-work phases.
Reading and understanding site general arrangement (GA), design drawings (DD), as well as the marking up of as built drawings upon site completion.
Reading, understanding and interpreting electrical schematics.
Carrying out high level site surveys to establish what is required in terms of power design, equipment/material requirements.
Attending site as a Waldon Telecom representative in a professional manor to attend site meetings and draw up reports as and when necessary.
Attending Pre Start Meetings (PSM) / Multi Skilled Visits (PSV) leasing with the electrical engineering manager to resolve any issues and provide solutions on site with regards to electrical design.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
Full UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to travel UK Wide.
Hold C&G 2396 Level 4 electrical engineering qualification.
Hold BS7671 18th Edition 2382 City & Guilds.
NVQ level 3 in Electrical installation (building and Structures) or equivalent.
An appreciation of the Wireless Telecommunication industry.
Ability to use Electrical OM electrical design software.
Understands the values of engineering principles and value of cost- effective electrical design.
Excellent I.T.
skills.
(MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word).
Ability to prioritise workload and meet key deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Has the proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment to achieve programme targets.
Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
Initiates and manages change to drive process improvement.
Highly enthusiastic and motivated.
