Job Opportunity: Electrical Building Services Design Engineer Location: Glasgow (Head Office) Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per year + Annual Bonus Job Type: Full-time, Permanent CBW is looking for a talented and motivated Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary design team at our head office in Glasgow.
If you have a strong technical background and hands-on experience designing electrical building services systems, this is your chance to take on a role that offers diverse challenges and opportunities to work on unique and technically advanced projects.
As part of our team, you will contribute to the design and construction of complex, bespoke facilities in specialist and regulated industries, working directly with world-leading clients.
Key Responsibilities Design electrical systems, including HV/LV distribution, lighting, fire alarms, structured cabling, and security systems, with support from senior engineers when necessary.
Develop detailed plans and specifications, collaborating with senior engineers for input as required.
Perform system calculations and equipment selection based on project needs.
Ensure design conformance with industry standards and regulations, collaborating with project teams.
Prepare construction documents such as equipment schedules, layout drawings, and single-line diagrams.
Manage the electrical aspects of projects from initial design through to construction and commissioning.
What We're Looking For Degree in Building Services Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical building services design.
Strong understanding of electrical design principles and relevant industry standards.
Ability to develop efficient and innovative design solutions from first principles.
Commercial awareness and strong project management skills.
Proficiency in electrical design software and tools like Trimble (Amtech), Dialux / Relux, and Excel.
Working knowledge of 2D/3D platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
Full UK driving licence is essential.

Required Qualifications  Bachelor's degree in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
3+ years of experience in building services.
2+ years of AutoCAD and Revit experience.
Full UK work authorisation and a valid driving licence.
