We are a small and supportive team in a local authority where SEND is given a high priority and where we have strong working relationships with our schools.
This post involves providing consultation and advice for parents/carers, children's services colleagues, health professionals and relevant others, to assist in meeting the needs of Bolton children and young people aged 0-25 years.
The post involves responding to requests for consultation, assessment, training, group-work and systemic work from schools, settings and the Local Authority.
The postholder would also be required to undertake statutory assessments of children and write psychological advice as required.
In addition, the postholder would also have the opportunity to be involved in some project work such as supporting whole school approaches to mental health and emotional wellbeing, specialist interest groups, family hubs and the Critical Incident Support Service.
About You The ideal candidates for these maingrade EP posts will be enthusiastic educational psychologists with an excellent understanding of children and young people's cognitive, social and emotional development.
You will be an effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with children, young people, families and all stakeholders.
You will be fully committed to ensuring that the special educational needs of children and young people are met and their outcomes improved.
You will also be a team player with a desire to join and contribute to our supportive team.
Applicants will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the HCPC, with a degree in psychology and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
Applications for this post are welcome from those completing training in 2025 (i.e.
those in Year 3 of their training), and from those wishing to work full time, part time or term time.
