Job Title: Editor-in-Chief/Head of Content Location: Remote, UK Hours: Flexible 35hrs/week Salary: £60,000.00 to £75,000.00 depending on experience In a Nutshell The Head of Content will lead the development and execution of a robust content strategy across the Mind Tools portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's purpose and vision.
This role requires a deep expertise in the creation of leadership and management content to address the needs of both individuals and organizations.
Overseeing a team of two Managing Editors, two Senior Editors, and four Content Editors, the Head of Content will be responsible for producing high-quality, research-backed resources that drive learning outcomes, engage users, and support customer acquisition.
As a key driver of content innovation, the Head of Content will balance strategic foresight with operational delivery to position Mind Tools as the leading authority in leadership and management development.
The Head of Content will work as part of the Product Hub, collaborating with Product, Insights, Engineering, and other teams across the business to ensure that content objectives align with organizational goals.
Key Areas of Focus 1.
Strategic Content Leadership Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company's vision and growth objectives.
Define and communicate the mission, vision, voice, and roadmap for content.
Lead strategic initiatives to position Mind Tools content as a leading resource for both individual and organizational development.
Collaborate with Product, Marketing and other leaders to ensure content strategies align with product development goals and broader company objectives.

Content Development and Production Oversee the planning, creation, and distribution of high-impact content tailored for diverse audience needs.
Lead the development of innovative, relevant, and high-quality content to drive user engagement.
Maintain editorial oversight and be the final decision-maker on publication, ensuring quality, relevance, and alignment with user needs.
Implement processes to optimize production workflows, including content governance, quality assurance, and content lifecycle management.

Content-Led Product Management Jointly manage content-led products in partnership with the Head of Product, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Contribute to feature prioritization, product enhancements, and development roadmaps to create best-in-class solutions.
Balance user needs, content strategy, and business objectives to drive the commercial success of content-led initiatives.

Thought Leadership Spearhead thought leadership initiatives focused on leadership and management skills development.
Publish insights, white papers, and opinion pieces that establish Mind Tools as a trusted authority in the field.
Represent Mind Tools at industry events, forums, and discussions, sharing expertise to enhance the company's reputation and influence.

Operational Management Ensure effective management of day-to-day content operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align efforts.
Oversee and support content production teams, including managing editors and content producers, with a focus on quality and user impact.
Directly manage team goals, workload allocation, and ensure ongoing skill development to meet evolving market needs.
Facilitate effective collaboration with marketing, SEO, and other teams to maximize reach and impact.

Performance Measurement and Improvement Implement systems to measure and enhance content performance and user impact.
Use data-driven insights to refine and improve content strategies, optimizing user acquisition, engagement and satisfaction.
Develop metrics to track content performance, including user feedback, SEO visibility, engagement and other key KPIs.

Collaboration and Relationship Management Forge strong relationships across the organization and with external partners to enhance content offerings.
Foster collaboration with commercial and go-to-market teams to maximize content's impact on customer engagement and business growth.
Represent Mind Tools externally, participating in industry discussions, events, and partnerships to enhance our market position.
