A leading Consulting firm in London are looking to hire an Analyst in their Macroeconomics team.
The team supports clients across a wide client base with a focus on banks, providing high quality macro-economic analysis.
Job Title: Macroeconomic Analyst Salary: £35,000 - £41,000 Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office per week) Type: Permanent Industry: Consulting Responsibilities in this role include: Design and evaluate economic scenarios for IFRS9 compliance and regulatory stress tests, employing sophisticated macroeconomic and econometric modeling techniques.
Improve internal econometric models, including statistical and structural frameworks, with a focus on meeting audit standards.
Create thought leadership materials to spotlight critical trends and potential risks within various sectors and business areas.
Convey complex economic insights effectively to audiences without an economics background, both in written form and verbally.
Collect, update, and organize economic data for use in analysis and model estimation.
Independently validate model outputs, develop new forecasting tools for macroeconomic indicators, and provide concise documentation for quantitative assessments, using tools like R and Python.
Skills & Experience desired: A master's in Economics from a leading university.
Experience within a macroeconomics team/unit, ideally in a professional services company, Central Bank or Think Tank.
An understanding of global and UK macroeconomic data sources and providers and experience in data wrangling and cleaning datasets for time series estimation purposes.
Experience using R or Python for the estimation of time series and structural models such as Structural VARs and Dynamic Factor models.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain complex economic concepts in simple terms.
