Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced EC&I Engineer to join our team in the Gas Pipeline industry.
The EC&I Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems associated with gas pipeline operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, control systems, and instrumentation, with a focus on ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of pipeline systems.
Key Responsibilities: System Design and Development: Design and develop electrical, control, and instrumentation systems for oil pipeline facilities, including pumps, compressors, valves, and other equipment.
Develop and review specifications, datasheets, and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects or upgrades to existing systems.
Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of EC&I systems for pipeline facilities, ensuring that installations meet design specifications and safety standards.
Work closely with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
Perform functional and performance testing of electrical and control systems.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Implement and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EC&I systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
Analyze system failures and develop solutions to improve reliability and safety.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all EC&I activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Participate in safety reviews, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to EC&I engineering.
Technical Support and Documentation: Provide technical support and guidance to operations, maintenance, and project teams regarding EC&I systems.
Prepare detailed technical reports, manuals, and documentation for systems and projects.
Conduct training sessions for personnel on the operation and maintenance of electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment.
Qualifications Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE license) is preferred.
5+ years of experience in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering, preferably within the oil pipeline or petrochemical industry.
Proficiency in PLC/DCS systems, SCADA, and HMI software.
Strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, API).
Experience with hazardous area equipment and safety standards (e.g., ATEX, NEC).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with stakeholders, including management, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Willingness to travel to various pipeline locations as required.
Preferred Skills: Experience with pipeline systems.
Familiarity with corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection systems.
Knowledge of flow measurement and metering systems.
Experience with cybersecurity standards for industrial control systems.
