At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams.
Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

Our Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit and Inpatient ward at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings offers you a choice of working with children and young people.

Main duties of the job
Your role will be to support the registered nurses within both ward and day unit areas.
You will provide some direct care to children under the supervision of registered nurses.
The is also a large focus on playing with the children to gain their co-operation especially during medical procedures.
You will be expected to support the play specialist/playworker within your role.
You will be expected to learn how to take blood and also support the child during blood taking.
You will also need to ensure that all infection control precautions are adhered to.
