Role Description: The Dyslexia team supports learners across all college-based provision from entry level to Higher Education.  The ideal candidate should have experience and knowledge of Dyslexia support alongside excellent communication and team working skills.  You will work closely with the Dyslexia Coordinator, advising staff alongside tutoring and supporting learners across the college.
In addition, you will have recent, relevant experience delivering support to learners with Dyslexia and hold a recognised Teaching qualification Responsibilities: To deliver targeted support aimed at improving achievements in academic and vocational courses To carry out Dyslexia screening following referrals from the Dyslexia Co-ordinator and complete all relevant paperwork for quality monitoring and audit purposes To support/tutor a specified number of learners per week relative to the contracted hours and agreed with the Dyslexia Co-ordinator To perform any administration tasks as required within your role as deemed necessary Motivate and inspire individual learners and groups to exceed their expectations and goals.
Ensure learners produce the highest level of work and are empowered to take ownership of their studies to achieve desired outcomes To clearly determine learner starting points and report progress to the Dyslexia Coordinator on a half termly basis To maintain awareness of current tutoring practice and to develop best practice in learning; teaching and assessment by supporting on programme at specified times agreed with the Dyslexia Coordinator Qualifications & Experience Recognised Teaching Qualification English and Maths level 2 Dyslexia Qualifications – desirable Enhanced DBS Personal Qualities Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
