Purpose of the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Process Dynamic Simulation Technical Lead in the managing and executing Process Simulation studies across all delivery stages (concept through to detailed design), who also possesses an interest in assisting clients and the wider energy industry through the transition to Net Zero.
In response, they can expect to support and deliver assignments across much of the energy spectrum.
Requirements Do you have some of the following?
Experienced leader and coordinating small agile process teams, in building and running process simulations, to solve problems and implement first class proactive solutions for our clients.
Demonstrable extensive experience and knowledge in developing complex dynamic simulations. Support the process team manager in further enhancing, developing and growing the process simulation & dynamics capability within the Process team. Support a variety of projects ranging from Compressor Start-up Sequence Validation & Surge Analysis, Process Safety Times Assessments, HIPPS design support and water injection system surge (water-hammer) analysis.
Leader and team player, capable of producing well-written and technically accurate study reports, as well as communicating Engineering concepts in a straightforward manner to other engineers, project managers, and clients.
Enthusiastic about contributing to the learning of others, demonstrating a willingness to coach, support less experienced engineers, particularly regarding IChemE chartership attainment and continuous professional development.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies Engineering degree, Masters or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or similar.
Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers or equivalent.
Comprehensive experience in executing and managing front end and conceptual engineering studies. Extensive experience and demonstrable track record of using HYSYS Dynamics and/or Unisim Dynamics as well as PipeNet or similar liquid surge (water hammer) programs.
Experience in client interfacing and to supporting business development requirements.
Experience in preparation of Tender Submissions, Proposals and CTRs.
Experience of coding with Python scripting would be beneficial.
Understanding of process control theory and principals. Appreciation and understanding of flow assurance / multi-phase flow aspects would be beneficial.
Excellent coordination, coaching / mentoring, and supervisory skills.
First class communication, report writing & presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to summarise key parameters and drivers succinctly.
