Description The role ensures that all drivers are fully trained to the required standards on all aspects of driving, operation of vehicle equipment, Health and Safety, periodic training and the relevant legislative required to perform their role.
Assists and supports the Service Delivery Managers & Fleet Manager with driver compliance through relevant training.
Supports driver cyclical events such as Driver CPC, medicals, licence checks and eye tests.
Assists in the compilation of toolbox talks and accident, incident investigations.
Supports vehicle telematics to improve driving behaviours and all associated costs.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents in a timely manner to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence Help to promote a culture of "Safety First" by conducting ongoing driver training, inductions and toolbox talks Support the induction of new driver's inductions into the business, including the following: Safe Working Procedures & Risk Assessments Driving Assessment (pre-start, annually and post-accident) Vehicle familiarisation Vehicle Equipment Training Ensure that all administration and driver data is kept fully up to date.
Assist the Service Deliver Managers to ensure driver compliance in the following areas: WTD Tachographs Licence checks Toolbox talks FORS cyclical requirements Assists in the organising of periodic training with regards to: Driver CPC qualification.
ADR training as required Vehicle cross training Annual Driving assessments Work closely with transport and the SDM's to assist in any adhoc training needs Assist in accident, incident investigations supporting the SDM's and identifying root causes, resolutions and improvement plans Manages and drives vehicle telematics to improve driving behaviours and all associated costs, through driver engagement and appropriate training Support the GM, SDM's and Fleet Managers to develop, implement and document all aspects of training to maintain compliance with regulations and company standards Perform administrative duties as necessary In conjunction with the health and safety department, ensures that mandatory training, induction and toolbox talks are delivered in line with company policy Carry out, out of hours observations This is not an exhaustive list.
You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the scope, spirit and purpose of this role Skills, Knowledge and Expertise LGV license Qualified Driving Instructor or minimum Driving Assessor Waste Management vehicle equipment minimum train the trainer.
