Job Title: Drama Specialist Location: Telford Salary: £100 - £220 per day depending on qualifications and experience.
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Drama Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators and work within a secondary school in Telford.
The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching drama to secondary school students and a commitment to fostering their artistic growth and development.
Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that inspire and challenge students.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and express themselves.
Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with the National Curriculum and the school's educational objectives.
Direct and oversee student productions, guiding students through the rehearsal process and ensuring high-quality performances.
Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama across the curriculum and participate in school-wide events and productions.
Stay updated on current trends and best practices in drama education and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary school level, with a proven track record of student success.
Deep knowledge of drama pedagogy, theatre history, and dramatic literature.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
Creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Experience directing student productions is highly desirable.
