You will manage theongoing and review and Mental and Capacity Act Teams which are responsible forthe case coordination, and the development of packages of care and review ofCHC eligible individuals and ensuring that NHS Dorset meets its statutoryrequirements in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
You will be experienced in leading fast paced operationalmulti disciplinary teams and ability to analyse complex information using yourprofessional judgement, experience and knowledge of the National framework andother associated legislation and statutory guidance to inform your decisionmaking.
You will use negotiation skills to resolve disputes, complaints andensure the best outcomes.

Main duties of the job You will provide operationalleadership to the East locality ongoing and review and Mental Capacity ActTeams to ensure their efficiency, responsiveness, and performance againstagreed KPIs.Providing line management toTeam Leads in your area of service, acting as a point of escalation andproviding advice on the management of complex service issues.
You will workwith team leads to monitor service performance and develop, implement and reviewplans to address key issues.In line with NHS Dorsets careassurance process, you will be responsible for the assurance of packages ofcare within your locality.
Ensuring that these are safe, sustainable andrepresent best value.You will work with your teamsand service colleagues to identify potential service risks and whereappropriate take ownership of these, developing and implementing plans toaddress identified risks.You will work closely withsystem partners to develop collaborative relationships based on a solutionfocused approach and attend relevant meetings to provide representation for theAACC Team as required.You will lead on investigations of complaints relating to your locality, ensuring timelyresponses and that identified learning is used to support the continuousimprovement of the service.You will support the CHCdisputes and NHS England Independent review (IR) processes through chairingmeetings, presenting cases to independent panels acting as an independent ICBrepresentative at IR panels.

The postholder will have the ability toengage with key stakeholders and have demonstrable competencies in the managingof All Age Continuing Care services and to provide leadership to colleagues toimplement strategies across Dorset and support the development of local andnational policies.The post holder will support the SeniorOperations Manager and Head of AACC in the production of reports and analysiswhich will provide timely, responsive and accurate business intelligenceagainst key objectives and priorities, liaising with commissioning functionswhich will require strong and effective working relationships with internal andexternal colleagues.The post holder will be required to makejudgements involving highly complex facts and situations which will requireanalysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
They will needto be aware of, and to understand, local strategy and local and national policyand be able to interpret and make judgement on various situations, takingaccount of these strategies and policies, to determine the correct course ofaction.
This will be particularly relevant as many queries will have more thana straightforward choice of options.The post holder will support thedevelopment of relevant policies and guidance in response to evolving changesand developments in service.The post holder should hold a full UKdriving license and have access to a vehicle to be able to fulfil therequirements of this post Person Specification Qualifications Essential A relevant professional qualification / registration in health or social care.
Masters level qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
Knowledge of NHS All Age Continuing Care and associated procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical knowledge of the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care and Childrens and Young Peoples Continuing Care.

Experience Essential Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of work practices and procedures including workforce management, performance management, risk management, protection of vulnerable adults, information governance etc.
Expert knowledge, analysis and interpretation of Government legislation and policies.
Evidence of management skills in recruitment and selection, performance management and project management.
Proven history of reviewing financial reports to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Experience of change management Previous line management or staff support experience Recent previous experience of working within a customer focused environment.
Previous experience of planning and organising multiple panels and case conferences.
Desirable Knowledge and experience of governance and management of Personal Health Budgets.
