Job summary We are looking for a friendly, flexible and conscientious person to join our small team of Domestic Assistants at Alnwick InfirmaryThis post is to work 24hrs per week , working 4 days from 7.Shifts worked are a share of 7am-1pm or 1pm -7pm and this post includes working a share of weekends and Bank Holidays.Other hours may also be available.
Main duties of the job Quite simply, the NHS could not function without our Domestics!

You'll be part of a team striving to maintain the highest cleanliness standards in wards, departments, corridors and offices, and in doing so making a real difference to the NHS.

Job description Job responsibilities Examples of the tasks that we carry out are: Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning.
Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present.
Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste from designated areas to disposal point.
Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges, shelves, curtain rails.
Cleaning of internal glass and external hand washing facilities.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work areas.
Carry out any urgent spot cleaning and spillage when required.
Other tasks as deemed appropriate Person Specification Experience Essential Previous cleaning experience Qualifications Essential Basic Food Hygiene and/or Level 1 Food Safety Certificate or must be achieved within 6 months of start date Basic Numerate & Literate Skills Desirable NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
