Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Advisor Fixed Term, Full Time £30,931 to £35,362 Per Annum Location: Clacton on Sea Closing Date: Thursday 21st November 2024 at 11.59pm Please note that this is a Fixed Term Contract / Secondment opportunity for a period of 24 months.

The Opportunity To work alongside Assessment & Intervention and Family Support & Protection Teams providing support to Perpetrators of Domestic Violence undertake work re their behaviours to effect change.
Delivering a service to those at high risk by assisting them to access services to support and keep families safe.
To work within a multi-agency team which may include attendance at MARAC where appropriate, and link victims to community-based services in a timely way through building good relationships with partners and the voluntary sector.
Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse perpetrators using an evidence-based risk identification checklist, providing timely assessment within contract timescales.
Focus on and provide a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support.
Work with perpetrators of domestic abuse to help them access services to change their behaviours and keep their family safe.
Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse situations and how your role fits into them.
Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information where relevant to perpetrators including legal options, housing, health, and finance.
Accountabilities Work within a multi-agency setting to address the safety of families and ensure that their safety plans are co-ordinated, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the perpetrator and the Social Worker, remain an integral part of the team to formulate an assessment and be able to contribute to the multi-disciplinary team assessment.
Understand the multi-agency partnership structures and work within these settings.
Establish ongoing multi-agency connections and relationships for the benefit of the victim and their family.
Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation and help them regain safety for their family.
Maintain timely, accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to the work of the team.
Participate in regular case management reviews within the Multi-Disciplinary Team and your line manager based on a review of risk and abuse which feeds back into action planning to further progress, signpost, or close cases, and provides feedback to your clients/agencies and informs future case management.
Produce data and written reports with effective case input and through the provision of case studies to illustrate the impact of the service for domestic abuse victims.
Engage in supervision both individually and through group supervision.
The Experience You Will Bring Essential: Significant employed experience of working with individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
Experience of identifying safeguarding concerns and reporting concerns in line with local policies and procedures.
Experience of working with risk and the ability to provide advice on moving service users forward.
Excellent understanding of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
Desirable: Understand principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
Proven ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries.
Work flexibly as part of a team.
knowledge of the procedures and legislation specific to Children and families..
The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency.
Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
