Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust We have an exciting leadership opportunity to join our Trust as Divisional Chief Nurse for neonates, paediatric ward, day unit and emergency department.
This role will also lead on care pathways for CYP across the Trust.
Working alongside the leadership team for the Women's Health and Paediatrics Division, this new role is pivotal in providing nursing professional leadership, workforce planning and delivery, supporting the delivery of the clinical strategy.

Reporting to the Divisional Director and Chief Nurse, this role will bring expert knowledge in the field of paediatrics and neonates, providing direct leadership to clinical areas such as NICU, Paediatrics ED, Paediatrics Ward, and Paediatric Day unit.
Additionally, there are a number of clinical specialist roles you will provide leadership to, ensuring clinical service developments aligned to our clinical strategy.
It is an exciting time to join us as a Trust and as a Division as we commence a group model in January and begin significant service developments such as the further development of a POSCU unit.

Main Duties of the Job The Divisional Chief Nurse will act as part of the quartet leadership team with the Associate Director of Operations, Director of Midwifery, and the Divisional Director in the Women's Health and Paediatric Division to create a culture within the Division that facilitates excellence in clinical services through patient-centered multi-professional team-based care.
They will ensure quality of services to patients, visitors, and staff, including management of clinical governance, healthcare standards, and risk.

The Divisional Chief Nurse is specifically accountable for the delivery and performance of the patient care provided within the Division, implementing the Trust Nursing and Midwifery Strategy, national NCYP strategies and Guidance, and the ASPH Clinical Strategy.
They will also lead on the care and pathways for all CYP across the Trust.
The DCN NCYP will ensure standards of care and treatment meet the registration requirements of the Care Quality Commission, national specific clinical guidance, and other regulators.

Job Responsibilities The Divisional Chief Nurse will provide senior strategic visible clinical and professional leadership for all Paediatric patients across the Trust, including across the multidisciplinary team.
Providing specialist expertise and taking specific responsibility for patient safety, quality, and experience, the post holder will promote quality, innovation, productivity, and performance that improves quality of care and patient outcomes, driving transformation through agreed improvement models or service pathway redesigns.
They will act as an expert in neonates and children's and young people's care delivery nursing, networking effectively across the organisation and outside the organisation to ensure a joined-up approach is taken to services accessed by babies, children, and young people which meets national standards and their specific needs.
In addition, they will participate in national and regional networks, being alert to best practice, bringing this back to the Trust and representing the department effectively.
They will lead the delivery of patient pathways/service development according to ASPH Clinical Strategy, national specialist guidance, and workforce needs ensuring excellent care and outcomes.
This role is the NCYP lead operationally and strategically across the Trust ensuring service improvements on pathways.
They will lead and manage the Divisional nursing workforce and work collaboratively with the divisional and Corporate Quality team, specifically providing oversight for the Quality and Safety team within WHP services.
They will ensure oversight of Divisional governance processes and provide assurance of all processes.
They will provide high-level professional and operational support for nursing across the wider Foundation Trust and support the successful achievement of the Trust vision.
They will be responsible for the delivery of excellent quality nursing care, providing highly specialist and expert advice to the Trust and Division on all nursing matters.
In collaboration with the Divisional Director and Associate Director of Operations, they will lead the Clinical Governance Assurance Framework and ensure the quality of care within the Division; patient experience, patient safety, and clinical effectiveness are of the highest standard, meeting national and local outcomes and achievement of agreed CQUIN payments.
They will be responsible for ensuring that the Integrated Clinical Governance Assurance Framework and PSIRF is embedded within the Division.
They will integrate corporate nursing plans and corporate objectives with the Divisional clinical service plans.
They will work with senior nurses across the Trust to evolve and develop predictive/early warning clinical quality dashboards that enable targeted intervention.
They will deputise for the Deputy Chief Nurse as required.
They will ensure the nursing agenda is delivered by providing leadership and professional management of Clinical Nurse Leader, Nurse Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Practice Educators, and all nurses within the Division.
They will ensure strong and effective ward management is in place.
They will be responsible for the sustained delivery of the nursing budget in the Division and for ensuring the nursing resource is used effectively, contributing to continuous improvement, increased productivity, and realization of benefits both in financial cost improvement savings and in resource terms.
They will lead on the Workforce strategy for the Division, ensuring quality and safety underpin decision-making incorporating QSIAs with service changes.
They will lead on strategic nursing issues as determined by the Chief Nurse and be responsible for policy and service development within the Division and corporately as determined by the Chief Nurse.
They will provide direct clinical and operational support and leadership whenever required.
