Job Description Burnview Healthcare is a group of family run care homes which specialises in Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Day care.

We are currently recruiting for a part time Diversional/Activity Therapist who will co-ordinate activities for our residents based on their abilities, likes and past times.
This will include activities such as arts & crafts, music, beauty and baking.
Our Activity Therapists organise social events throughout the year and are involved in fundraising activities as needed.
About The Role Main Duties and Responsibilities Care Skills 1.
To be an active member of the caring team led by the Nurse Manager. 2.
To assist the primary nurses in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the activity provided for each individual resident. 3.
To discuss within the team all key issues concerning Reminiscencing and Activity Therapy. 4.
To maintain accurate, up to date records of each resident. Organisational Skills 5.
To have knowledge and proper training on Activity Therapy. 6.
To be an effective communicator, liaising with the multidisciplinary team where necessary. 7.
To be a facilitator, identifying the appropriate times to give support and to be a good listener and councillor when necessary. 8.
To be sensitive to the residents needs. 9.
Be pro-active to minimise actual and potential problems arising. 10.
Be aware of the requirement to exercise cost effectiveness with regards to the Homes resources. Personal Development 11.
To take an active part in the continuing development of the Home and its residents. 12.
To discuss personal and professional development with your supervisor. 13.
