Job Summary - An experienced Quality Engineer is required to join a small team in support of the wider Manufacturing group.
The post will be largely interfacing with the factory and therefore experience of Quality Engineering in a precision machining application would be ideal.
Key duties and responsibilities To lead quality improvement activities in the factory alongside two other QE's To gather factory data, review it and report back on process changes that are necessary to hit targets.
To describe and undertake capability studies and support Engineering with tolerancing conclusions Undertake Process Audits and support Inspectors in their Patrol Audit duties.
Pursue a stakeholder for corrective action close out for all audit failings.
Participate in APQP activities for major projects including DFMEA, PFMEA.
Similarly using gauge R&R and MSA to support inspection plans based on risk and cap study results Development and maintenance of control plans.
Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for QC processes.
Typically, in response to customer complaints, lead an investigation including problem solving techniques to define corrective and preventative actions.
Complete 8D responses to a high standard.
Assist in the maintenance of a defined Document Control System.
To maintain a visible presence in the factory and uphold quality standards at all times Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following internal safety at work procedures.
Be able to communicate findings effectively and clearly to the key stakeholders within the Manufacturing team.
Required Experience: Practical background with good knowledge of factory processes Min 3 years experience as a QE in a manufacturing context preferably within precision engineering Proven problem solving abilities with means to satisfy customer demands with 8D response Experience of leading Quality Improvement activities Trained auditor with auditing experience PC capable; writing reports, SOP's and analysis using Excel and/or Word Able to drive for company business Preferred Experience - but not essential Experience in an APQP environment preferably in a TS16949 context, with experience of PPAP, Gauge suitability, FMEAetc Experience within OEM Automotive or Aerospace manufacturing.
