Job summary Longfield Medical Centre in Maldon have an exciting opportunity within our purpose-built dispensary centre.
We are looking to recruit a permanent dispensary assistant to cover all areas of dispensary duties within our practice.
This position is offered on a part-time basis, hours to be confirmed.If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job Receiving and processing prescription requests.
Maintaining stock of drugs and related stationery.
Ordering pharmaceutical stock.
Security and the safe custody of medicines, including compliance with the law relating to controlled drugs.
Maintaining a practical knowledge of the Drug Tariff and endorsing prescriptions for the Pricing Bureau at the end of each month.
Checking and ensuring fee exemptions at the point of prescription collection.
Respecting and adhering to the Code of Confidentiality at all times.
Daily reconciliation of the dispensary till and credit card terminal.
Performing any other duties as requested to assist with the efficiency and smooth running of both the dispensary and practice.
About us Longfield Medical Centre is a semi-rural training practice with a rapidly growing list size currently caring for over 16,500 patients with anticipation of growth to continue over the next few years.
The dispensary is a very busy working environment dispensing to approximately 3,000 dispensing patients.

Qualifications Essential None Desirable NVQ Level 2 or equivalent desirable but a trainee applicant would be considered.
