GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our welcoming school community in Eastleigh .

About the Role In this role, you will work closely with students with disabilities, providing tailored support to help them navigate challenges and thrive in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities of the Disability Support Worker: Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with disabilities, tailoring educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them understand and complete their work, and providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting each student's learning and well-being.
Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
Employ different instructional techniques and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
Keep detailed notes on each student's development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of the Disability Support Worker: Experience working with students with disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
Show a deep commitment to helping students with disabilities by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
Additional qualifications or training in special education are advantageous but not mandatory, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students with disabilities effectively.
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
