About the Role Classification: Locally Engaged Staff (LES)Salary Range: Commensurate with experienceWork Location: Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) office, VietnamEmployment Type: Full-time, fixed term 2-year contractA unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional with a background in trade promotion, investment attraction and relationship management, to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Trade & Investment, Vietnam, this position requires exemplary business development skills, a tenacious can-do attitude and a demonstrated ability to successfully influence senior decision makers.
Applicants should have a strong understanding of trade promotion and investment attraction strategies, and a detailed understanding of the business environment and key industry sectors in Vietnam and Victoria, Australia.
The successful applicant will work with offices across Southeast Asia and with colleagues in Melbourne to identify trade and investment opportunities and to create positive outcomes for Victorian businesses and the Victorian economy.
Successful Candidate An extensive background and track record in trade facilitation into an international market, including proactive business development and strategic lead generation initiatives.A thorough understanding of foreign investment attraction strategies, as well as knowledge of the key industry, economic, social and political drivers for Victoria and Vietnam.Strong communication skills with the ability to conduct successful commercial and financial negotiations and influence key decision makers.A client service mindset that prioritises adding value and providing a high level of service and support.Excellent analytical and research skills to identify opportunities, partners and potential investors.The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all costs and arrangements in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their visa, accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
