I am thrilled to announce that Cobalt are working with a highly regarded SME consultancy in central London, who are keen to hire a Director of Town Planning to build upon the success of a lean planning team, currently consulting on a wide variety of projects across London and the South East.
You could focus on pure planning and utilise the businesses' existing infrastructure to commence new instructions without the admin typically associated with larger organisations to shape a desirable pipeline of projects.
Naturally, you will be expected to generate enough business in your first 12 months to become a cost neutral hire. Ideally, a current Director within a planning consultancy or private sector organisation finding your current role or team to not be the right home for you.
In this role, you could contribute to determining the direction of the business with the support of an experienced and well-established team who operate on a very flexible basis.
Your role will involve:Fostering new and existing client relationships to generate new business.Managing a team of planning consultants.Reviewing and reporting to the board on P&L.Leading client and design team meetings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues.Project management and budgetary controls on projects.Supporting more junior members of staff.Ideally you will:Have over 10 years experience in town planning and managed the planning application process of major projects across the UK.Have excellent communication and written skills.Have gained extensive experience in business development to achieve successful outcomes.Have a 'can do' attitude and be a team player.This is an unrivalled opportunity to work within a team who are really working on some of the city and region's best projects, and to make a real mark in your career.
