You'll be taking on full responsibility for the end to end supply chain and procurement activities for direct spend (upwards of £120m) via a team of 19 (3 direct reports), ensuring consistent supply of the highest quality products at the most commercially competitive agreements.
You'll guide and nurture your team, providing expert support and guidance when needed, building up confidence and capability to deliver a true high performance culture.
You'll develop a robust procurement & supply chain strategy that effectively manages material planning, procurement, strategic supplier performance management, inventory control and inbound logistics, ensuring all functions are working collaboratively and cohesively.
Currently around 97% of the BOM is sourced from UK suppliers, however there is an opportunity to explore the capabilities of European suppliers that could potentially deliver the precision engineered components needed at the higher volumes some existing suppliers struggle to fulfil.
You'll build excellent cross-functional relationships, especially with the R&D and Engineering teams, getting the existing project load under control and ensuring future projects/programmes are effectively coordinated from a supply chain perspective.

What do you need to bring to the table?
To be successful in this role it's expected that you'll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience: Proven senior leadership experience in an end to end Supply Chain role (incorporating Procurement, Material Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics) within a complex manufacturing environment - high preference is given to automotive, however experience gained in other fast moving manufacturing environments with volatile supply chains will be considered A natural, engaging leadership style that promotes inquisitiveness - you'll be a great mentor and motivator, able to bring together teams and functions to work in a highly collaborative manner A good understanding of the supply chain challenges that come with a low to medium volume manufacturing environment, especially one that uses highly precision engineered, high value products that aren't necessarily easy to manufacture to scale Previous experience of sourcing, and setting up supply chains with, suppliers in Europe Familiar with SAP would be advantageous Willing and able to be on site in Surrey 4 days a week Formal supply chain related qualification would be advantageous If the above sounds like the next step in your already successful career, and you'd like to learn more, apply today with a copy of your CV, LinkedIn profile or whatever you have for immediate consideration – every application is reviewed by a person, and everyone will get a response, it's the least you deserve.
