Director of Financial Control Hertfordshire £130,000 - £150,000 + 30% Bonus Vitae Financial Recruitment have been mandated in the search for a technically strong Director of Financial Control to join the Finance Leadership team for this this market leading circa £1B t/o organisation as a senior executive during a period of significant growth and investment.
Reporting directly to the CFO the Director of Financial Control will be responsible for all external reporting, financial compliance and governance, tax and treasury activities.
This role requires a strong combination of financial expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and business environments.
Whilst tax and treasury experience is preferred those with an outstanding technical accounting background that would like to broaden their remit will be considered if coming from a previous leadership role.
Senior Managers from a Big 4 Practice will also be considered, again if there is a demonstrable and comprehensive understanding of financial principles, accounting standards and financial reporting standards.
About the Role: · Effectively communicating financial information to internal and external stakeholders, including executives, investors, and regulatory bodies.
· Responsible for all External reporting, including statutory accounts and similar investor reporting.
· Work with the Head of Accounting & Reporting to develop and update financial policies to align with industry best practices, and well as responsible for group compliance with appropriate accounting standards.
· Lead role to manage external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy · Responsible for all tax matters, including corporation tax, VAT, PSA and IR35 compliance and planning, and management of advisors.
· Treasury responsibility including cash flow management.
· Other responsibilities include roles in governance forums, insurance management and ESG reporting.
· Deliver timely and accurate external and compliance activity, covering financial, tax and treasury matters.
· As part of a newly formed team, delivery of strong engagement and support development of both direct and wider finance team.
About you: · Qualified Accountant such as ACA · Comprehensive understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements · In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (such as GAAP or IFRS), and compliance requirements · Understanding of risk management and governance · Proficiency in identifying and managing financial and control risks · Effective communication skills to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders, including executives, board members, and investors · Problem-solving abilities to address complex financial challenges · Tax and treasury experience preferable · Previous experience in leadership roles, such as a Head of Reporting, Head of Finance, Head of Financial Control, Head of Financial Control and Reporting, Group Financial Controller, Head of Technical Reporting, Head of External Reporting, Head of Group Reporting or Director of Finance · Proven experience in leading teams · Experience in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with organizational goals · Strong background in financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements and compliance with accounting standards · Takes initiative to drive the overall business agenda.
