Company Overview: We are partnered with a European leader in digital pathology, offering state-of-the-art solutions that improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline lab workflows, and support clinical and research advancements.
My client are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead their technical team and drive product innovation in this fast-evolving field.
Position Overview: The Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading the engineering function across software, hardware, and cloud infrastructure development.
This role will drive the technical strategy and ensure the successful delivery of scalable digital pathology solutions that meet the needs of healthcare providers and research institutions across Europe.
The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with European healthcare regulations and deliver high-quality, innovative products.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the engineering team to deliver robust, scalable digital pathology solutions.
Develop and implement the technical roadmap, aligning engineering goals with business objectives and market demands.
Oversee full product development lifecycle, including software, hardware, and AI integration.
Ensure products comply with European regulatory standards, including CE marking, GDPR, and MDR.
Collaborate with R&D, product management, and clinical teams to integrate market needs and customer feedback into product design.
Implement industry best practices for software development, testing, and continuous delivery.
Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, ensuring a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in engineering or product development, with 5+ years in a leadership position.
Proven experience in healthcare technology, digital pathology, or medical devices within the European market.
Strong technical background in software engineering, cloud technologies, and AI/ML.
Deep understanding of European healthcare compliance, including GDPR, CE marking, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
Successful track record in managing cross-functional engineering teams and delivering market-ready products.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
