Purpose The Director of Assets & Sustainability is a member of the Leadership Team whose purpose is to lead a high performing organisation and develop a culture which enables and drives both customer and colleague satisfaction.
This role will be the guardian of the Assets & Sustainability Strategy, ensuring its effective design, delivery and implementation which will in turn underpin the delivery of our strategic plan/corporate commitments.
The Director of Assets & Sustainability will play a critical role in driving forward the Groups ambitions for growth, innovation, financial capacity and a positive culture.
Delivering excellence in leadership, creating a high support, high challenge environment where colleagues are inspired, enabled and empowered to do their best work and deliver on the organisations purpose.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Customer & Communities this role will provide a high quality assets service which is agile and commercial in nature whilst embodying our social purpose, values, and behaviours.
This service will include: Asset Management: Maximising the life and return on current and future assets base and maintaining a Valleys to Coast quality standard for new and existing homes; Keeping assets in good order through proactive and effective maintenance and major work programmes; Appraising responsive, cyclical and capital works spend, making the right decisions at the right time; Procuring and developing an effective asset investment programme which is cost effective and meets the organisation and customer needs; Embracing and promoting new thinking and technology to improve our homes for the organisation and our customers; Improving the energy efficiency of our homes by taking an innovative approach; Challenging, by way of investment or disinvestment, properties and neighbourhoods that do not meet our quality baseline.
Regeneration: Shape and form a regeneration plan that improves the organisations stock profile whilst improving the strength of the business plan; Creating a culture that manages our assets as homes and neighbourhoods, not just properties and estates; Line Manages: Head of Regeneration Head of Compliance Head of Projects & Commercial Personal Specification Qualifications Hold a relevant qualification, degree or similar (Desirable) Hold an appropriate professional membership, CIOB or similar (Desirable) Knowledge / Experience Extensive experience of successfully developing and delivering an Assets Strategy with investment, dis-investment & regeneration priorities with positive outcomes; Substantial experience in a related Head of Service or Director role; Proven track record of managing and continuously improving in a Head of Service or Director role; Proven track record of delivering results both operationally and strategically; Experience in presenting complex matters applying clarity & purpose; Experience in developing highly effective teams; Substantial experience of coaching, supporting, challenging and influencing colleagues, managers and leaders successfully; Extensive change management experience; Proven experience of positive partnership working with stakeholders up to Board level to achieve successful outcomes.
Closing date: Wednesday 20th November 2024 Interview date: Wednesday 4th December 2024 Terms and conditions Salary: £86,000 Working hours: 37 hours per week, worked between our core operating hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Location: The primary location of this role is in Bridgend, South Wales, but well enable you to take advantage of smarter working allowing you to work in our main office, at home or any other place that will allow you to carry out your work appropriately.
However, effective service delivery will always come first and that will sometimes require you to be present at our office, depot or community locations.
With that in mind we would expect to see you in person at least two days a week.
Annual leave: 25 days increasing by 1 day for every completed year up to a maximum of 5 days plus bank holiday.
Pension: SHPs - well contribute 3% more than you each month.
