We now seek a fully experienced Director to be based in either our London or Bicester office.
Leveraging your strong client relationships and industry expertise at all levels, you will support the leadership of the European data centre delivery teams.
You will cultivate new and existing client relationships to support strategic growth in the sector.
Being an agile, positive and innovative future thinker, you will contribute actively to drive revenue goals, manage sales budgets and make day to day business decisions in line with delegated authority while promoting the company's values and collaborative mindset.
Role Responsibilities Take strategic level business management and leadership responsibility for critical business function, location(s) or P&L account.
Take a lead role in growing the critical business function, location(s) or P&L account in line with RED's growth targets.
Work with other directors and staff to set direction of company (vision, mission and values) Contribute to the development of robust organisational structure and effective business plan.
Carry out cost and profit diagnosis on projects and take financial responsibility for P&L account.
Ensure risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegation Maximise current and future project profitability Help plan and be accountable for strategy and budgets for P&L areas Manage commercial outcomes to meet budgets and agree plans Maximise opportunities for new and repeat business Project risk management and supervision of teams delivering on quality Develop and promote technical excellence in design within the office Team leadership and staff development/mentoring Take a Team Management role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Process, Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
Represent the Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards Take a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions Role Requirements BEng/MSc/MEng in appropriate engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experience MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent Chartered Engineer status Proven history of major project delivery in the data centre sector Stable career background and experience within the AEC business sector Extensive and proven experience of leading a business stream within the technology sector Proven ability to motivate and collaborate effectively with cross functional and geographically diverse teams, internally and externally Understanding of business strategy principles and skills Measurable record as primary point of contact for major sector clients – sustainable income stream Have robust knowledge and understanding of European / International marketplace and an established profile in this area Proven history of office strategic leadership, development and mentoring of staff Balanced strong communicator Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral In depth experience of design and specification across the majority of building types Experience of having managed International projects (desirable) Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation Appreciation & working knowledge of contract and business law Knowledge of MS office applications word, excel etc Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software Good understanding of British and international European standards/regulations/codes Experience and understanding of invoicing and credit control Ability to prioritise own workload and work to face paced deadlines Presentation skills Advanced leadership & mentoring skills Chairing/facilitation of meeting skills Significant DC sector experience Knowledgeable of the market at all levels including funders, developers, Hyperscale, Colocation and contractor areas Resilience to working in a fast paced high performance delivery environment Background in consulting or construction essential.
Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
