About the Role: The Commercial Effectiveness team came together recently. Its purpose is to understand and maximise business performance and drive up consumer value through the strategic use of digital tools, technologies, and data. The Director of Delivery is a high profile and critical role within this team.
The Director of Delivery, Commercial Effectiveness will be responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of a complex global portfolio of technology and data programmes (~£40-60m investment) directly impacting the strategic objectives of the company, and will partner with the Haleon Exec Team (HET) across Global Marketing, Commercial Excellence as well as the Business Units to align on delivery and facilitate swift and impactful implementation across our markets. The role should have strong understanding of Commercial and Marketing Technology and business outcomes and be a credible advisor on achieving the enterprise initiative outcomes.
The role will also manage significant foundation data delivery and significant AI and analytics data products. The role holder will be expected to understand and credibly influence the development of these platforms for the benefit of the Business.
The role will provide, maintain, and develop programme delivery and management capability to ensure and assure the effective coordinated delivery of work streams to an overall complex enterprise outcomes. This will be through a combination of direct delivery of programmes and by co-teaming with product and platform teams, strategic vendors, and business stakeholders to manage inter-dependencies.
The role holder will be one of the key accountable senior leaders in a cross functional team made up of Digital & Tech functions, Data teams, Business Teams and BUs. The resources may be sourced internally or through multiple vendors. The team may stretch to hundreds of people at times. The role will need to provide strong leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to create a high-performance culture and takes ownership of critical decisions and provides clear direction, actively leading problem-solving discussions across boundaries.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive delivery strategy aligned with the company's objectives. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in delivery processes and methodologies. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and delivery specialists. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple complex projects within the Commercial Technology domain. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, product management, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on delivery priorities. Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners and vendors. Performance Monitoring: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project success and delivery effectiveness. Regularly review project progress and performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in delivery processes, developing strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards throughout all projects. Process Improvement: Champion the adoption of best practices in project management and delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean). Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. 10+ years of experience in project management or delivery leadership, ideally in consumer healthcare or related sectors but not essential. Proven experience managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: Strong knowledge of consumer healthcare trends and regulatory requirements. Exceptional leadership and people management skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience of leading agile teams.
