Director, Consulting Healthcare Technology Systems

Details of the offer

Carnall Farrar (CF) is a growing consultancy which works across all aspects of the health sector from supporting the NHS to serving major life science companies. We are passionate about, and experts in, health and healthcare. Founded in 2013 we have grown to a core staff base of management consultants, technical consultants, a data operations team and corporate functions. We have a strong reputation with the NHS, and our actively seeking to spread awareness of our brand and offers across the health sector more broadly. We are highly regarded both internally and externally for the level of support and development we give our people. As a professional services business, CF has three primary assets – its people, its knowledge and its data and associated products.
The Director of Healthcare Technology Systems leads a Center of Excellence for a high profile, multi-year contract focused on healthcare technology. The Director will oversee the deployment of analytical platforms and health tech products across healthcare trusts, guiding product development and operational strategy while managing a dedicated team of resources. With a focus on strategic, cross-functional leadership, this role requires an in-depth understanding of the current healthcare digital landscape and the ability to anticipate and address major disruptions and innovations in the field.
Role summary The Director role acts to lead the delivery of client teams. It acts as the Delivery Partner on client engagements with accountability for client services that are delivered to high quality and high impact. Significant client delivery experience is essential to be drawn on to ensure work is completed within contracted parameters such as scope, time, and cost. They are responsible for ensuring the commercial aspects of delivery are adhered to, client and company resources are managed cost effectively and risk is managed. As the Delivery Partner, the Director directs and owns the approach to problem-solving client requirements. They have high capability in this domain and can direct management consulting and technical consulting team members meaning they are literate in best practice management consulting and healthcare data and how to optimise its use for our clients.
In addition to client delivery, the Director role is pivotal in leading efforts to secure future work. The wider CF Partner team should be supported by this role to generate revenues. This is achieved through the Director building excellent client relationships in the delivery of work and spotting and securing follow-on and/or adjacent opportunities with existing clients. Beyond existing client work, the Director role is responsible for leading the development of high-quality proposals, directing the wider bid team and directly developing and curating proposal content. The role has a revenue target, known as a "bid support target" which recognises the contribution the Director makes to securing work for CF. The securing of revenues is largely expected to be done in collaboration with the Accountable/Anchor Partner for the bid.
The Director of Health Technology Systems plays a pivotal role in building knowledge for the company. They recognise knowledge is an asset and utilise best practice models and frameworks and develop their own – codifying the practices that work and promoting and spreading this learning. The Director role should be known for an area of expertise and be developing their own brand valued by clients and colleagues alike. They cultivate an internal network of followers to develop and spread the knowledge and promote CF through articulating the impact of our work, developing thought leadership in case studies, articles and using social media to drive new opportunities.
This role should lead and develop our people. The role will support development of staff by being a mentor and coach to team members in the client work and bid teams that they lead. They will inspire those around them, acting as a role model for our values, competency framework and ways of working. They will act as a development sponsor to a cohort of staff, acting as a point of continuity for their career growth, learning and development and being their performance evaluator. They will lead components of CF's internal development programme and will play a key role in championing people initiatives, processes, requirements and frameworks across the business to support retention, as well as participating in recruitment.
As a member of the senior leadership team of CF, clear communication and strong interpersonal skills are essential, role modelling the leadership behaviours we are committed to at every level of the company. When working with colleagues in CF, clients, suppliers, and people seeking to engage CF, professionalism, kindness and diplomacy are essential qualities.
