Director Clinical Supply Chain Planning Introduction to role

You will lead, manage, and develop a team of Clinical Supply Chain Design Specialists and Clinical Supply Chain Planners to ensure clinical supply chains are designed and studies are supplied with the drug they need in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Accountabilities Leadership for supply chain design and clinical supply planning for all internal products and external commercial products. Responsibility for both the daily deliveries from the team to the supply chains and the long-term development of team capabilities. Leadership for the implementation of supply chain excellence principles in the Clinical Supply Chain Design Specialist and Clinical Supply Chain Planner roles. To achieve optimized clinical supply chains where demand and supply are in optimal balance using the Smart Supplies Planning module. Engaging with leaders across CM&S to resource, develop ways of working, and prioritize work to maximize portfolio delivery with the available resources. Partner with other CM&S leaders to drive adherence to planning processes across CM&S. Provide guidance to the team in proactive risk identification, solution-building, and issue resolution to facilitate achievement of objectives on time and to appropriate quality and cost. Manage issues and complex trade-offs with both internal and external partners. This will require well-developed conceptual and analytical thinking to make complex judgments and deliver innovative solutions. Ensuring training in, adherence to, and continuous improvement of supply chain business processes. Develop and exploit links with external supply chain communities of practice to grow knowledge and best practice and to explore new technologies and capabilities. Part-time sponsoring or leading key improvement work, business relationship, or business process development. Essential Skills/Experience Degree, preferably in drug development or supply chain related subject, or equivalent qualification/experience. Extensive supply Chain Planning experience. Knowledge of drug development and clinical supply. Experience of working in a supply chain environment and at the customer-supplier interface. Technical knowledge of clinical supply. Leadership/Management experience in a supply chain environment. Proven ability to motivate, develop, and empower others to accomplish outstanding individual and project goals. Track record in identifying and driving continuous improvement and an awareness of Lean. Business acumen and ability to work effectively across multiple SET areas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good influencing, negotiating, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Desirable Skills/Experience APICS CSCP. Lean training or certification. Awareness of external regulations related to clinical supply. Knowledge of AZ R&D operating model. Date Posted
