Job summary Fixed term contract until 29th December 2025 Part time - hours per week We have an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in dietetics and the role of nutrition in a clinical setting.
The successful post holder will support our ward teams with managing the caseload of patients across the hospital who require dietetic interventions.
They will support the delivery of education and training sessions to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, as well as supporting the delivery of some of our outpatient services.
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

We have good computer facilities in the department and have access to excellent library and CPD support.
This service will be transitioning to HCRG Care Group from the 1st April 2025.
The successful candidate may transfer over (under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006) on the terms and conditions they are employed on.

Main duties of the job Supporting dietitians in hospital with triaging referrals and managing non-complex referrals.Supporting acute dietetic team and ward staff with implementation and audit of adult in-patient ward programme of nutritional screening (MUST) and associated care pathways.Managing own caseload/workload, maintaining accurate records according to policy.Providing telephone reviews with support as appropriate.Provide anthropometric outpatient clinic to support outpatient teams in monitoring of patients.Maintaining effective communication between MDT's.Supporting patient experience at mealtimes by carrying out observational audits and patient satisfaction surveys.Supporting the dietitians in delivering nutrition education and training programmes, face to face or virtual.Maintaining close and relevant communication with key staff at all levels.Supporting the design and implementation of internal and external referral pathways and procedures.

Job description Job responsibilities Supporting the patient information project (diet sheet development and co-ordination) including managing diet sheets and training materialsDeveloping, organising and maintaining effective office systems, including filing systems, department resources, ONS stock levels, training materials and databases.Participating in the collection, analysis, evaluation and administration of data for audit purposes.Providing a supportive role to nutrition research projects.Participating in dietetic service meetings, department meetings, MDT meetings and care planning meetings.Being professionally and legally accountable for own work.Being an effective communicator and have the ability to overcome barriers.
Communication with a patient can be affected by their physical, emotional or psychological state: dysphasia, depression.Using and developing computer skills for nutritional analysis, data entry, database, email, word processing and presentation development.Maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
Please see the attached spreadsheet for full information Person Specification Qualifications Essential NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification Desirable DA Member of the BDA Nutrition related training or qualification Under-graduate degree in related field ( science/health) (required for dietetic apprenticeship) GCSE Maths & English (grade C /Level 4 or above) (required for dietetic apprenticeship) Experience Essential Evidence of understanding the roles and responsibilities of the post Experience of working with MUST /nutritional screening Experience of working with people in a ward and/or community setting Experience of working with people in a medical environment Participate in a range of learning activities to support job role and personal development Desirable Experience of working with vulnerable people or children Experience in audit or research Knowledge Essential The ability to communicate complex or sensitive information ( face to face or by phone) about well-being to anxious patients and relatives.
The ability to prepare and deliver presentations to a group of people The ability to write clear and concise patient or audit reports The ability to prioritise and manage a varied and unpredictable workload Able to demonstrate commitment to patient and customer focused care Desirable Ability to drive and have access to car Knowledge of using Access Databases
