Job summary To work as a Radiographer providing care for patients attending the general Radiology Department and to process images appropriately.You will normally work without direct clinical supervision but will report to the Senior/Superintendent Radiographers within the Department.You will participate in the provision of an on-call / emergency / shift based radiographic service for the Health Board.Will perform CT Head scans in and out of Hours.
Main duties of the job We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 Radiographer to join our patient centred team of friendly Radiology staff at Princess of Wales Hospital.Applicants must possess a BSc (Hon)/ DCR (R) in Diagnostic Radiography and have current HCPC registration.You will participate in the Radiology Directorate shift / out of hours system as required, which involves night and weekend duties.Preceptorship is carried out toaid transition from Student to Radiographer,and you will gain valuable experience in all aspects of Radiography including General Imaging, Fluoroscopy, Theatre & Mobiles, Dental Imaging and CTscanning.Continuing Professional Development is actively encouraged together with participation in our coreauditprogramme.Princess of Wales provides a full range of Radiology services, is the traumacentrefor Bridgend areaand hasa GE LightspeedCT scanner,hasrecently installed a GERevolutionApexCT scanner and has a full range of digital imaging modalitiesincluding a cardiac catheter suiteavailable for its local population.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
