Job summary Starting May 2025Are you a looking for your next challenge?This could be the job for you - we have an exciting opportunity to appoint a band seven Diagnosis Support Clinical Nurse Specialist.
You will be working with our complex and vulnerable pre diagnosis patients on a cancer pathway and with our non specific symptom pathway.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient focussed and committed to improvement patient experience, pathways and care.
Main duties of the job We are looking for someone who is compassionate, enthusiastic, innovative and wanting to improve the access and experience of patients through diagnostic pathways.
You will be required to take responsibility for the delivery and engagement of patients referred on suspected cancer 2ww pathway, as well as acting as a role model and maintain effective collaborative relationships across the multi-disciplinary team.You will be invited to attend CNS forums and encouraged to undertake continuing professional development.
The successful candidate will be required to travel across sites as per service needs.

From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire.
Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Your NHS needs you Person Specification Qualifications Essential oRegistered General Nurse oFirst level degree or equivalent oDemonstrated ability to study at Masters level oRecognised teaching qualification oAdvanced communication skills training oLevel 2 Psychological Support Training or willingness to undertake oEvidence of continued professional development Desirable oMSc or willingness to undertake oCounselling course Previous Experience Essential oEvidence of extensive post registration experience, including cancer nursing at a senior level Band 6 or above oExperience of multi-disciplinary team working oLeadership and management experience oExperience of teaching within the clinical field Desirable oPrevious experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist oExperience of undertaking clinical audit oExperience of working as an autonomous practitioner Knowledge/Skills/Appitudes Essential oHighly developed communication and interpersonal skills oHighly motivated and able to work on own initiative oDemonstrate clinical leadership and management skills oAbility to lead and influence change oComputer literate oExcellent verbal, written and presentation skills oPersonally and professionally mature.
oAbility to evidence/demonstrate key values and excellent behaviours in line with the Trust framework: Patient Centred Safety Compassion Respect and Excellence Specific Requirements Essential oDemonstrate a person centred approach to care oAbility to prioritise and work under pressure oFlexibility in approach to work oAbility to travel independently to enable work anywhere within ULHT area when required.
oBe able to articulate their vision for the development of diagnosis support services.
oGood understanding of the key national drivers for cancer within the NHS.
