Development Manager – Planning & Building Salary: £63,616 - £69,757 per annum Closing Date: Sunday 8 th December Hours per week: 37 These are dynamic times in Test Valley as we meet the challenge of accommodating the new housing and commercial growth we need to plan for across the borough, and deliver masterplan led regeneration projects in Andover and Romsey, as well as contributing to the Council's ambitious climate change agenda.
Test Valley comprises a diverse and attractive natural and built environment including the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, historic town of Romsey, and the River Test, along with our largest settlement of Andover, which is the commercial centre of the borough.
This is a pivotal role in our planning service, not just in terms of managing one of our two area teams, but working strategically and proactively across the council and beyond, to meet wider strategic priorities.
You'll also be responsible for ensuring that we deliver the high-quality development the borough requires to support our communities, businesses whilst protecting and improving our unique environment.
As an experienced planner, you'll have Chartered Membership of the RTPI.
With extensive previous experience of working in all aspects of development management, you'll be an excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate and influence the outcome of all types of development proposals, so they enhance the economy and environment of Test Valley.
With strong leadership skills you'll have the ability to develop employees so that they reach their full potential, whilst ensuring we maintain excellent performance and a positive culture and approach to planning, taking every opportunity to enhance the way we provide our service.
