Development Engineer / R&D Engineer / Research & Development Engineer / Innovation Engineer required to join a global manufacturer of electromechanical measurement devices & sensors in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
The Development Engineer / R&D Engineer / Research & Development Engineer / Innovation Engineer will be the interface between electronics and mechanics for flow measurement products & sensors, and will be responsible for the architecture and implementation of the sensor electronics hardware to support wider functionality of measurement devices.
The successful Development Engineer must have either a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or similar.
Industrial / practical engineering experience would be beneficial.
An understanding of signal processing, data analysis, data acquisition, flow measurement, sensors, test & measurement, underlying physics of sensors / flow measurement, measurement principles, fluid dynamics or similar is required.
Hybrid working available, 2 days working from home following probation.
Role Apply theoretical knowledge into practical R&D, testing, development of sensors Innovation of new / and existing products Performing experimental and numerical data acquisition and data analysis Assist optimisation of the physical sensor-sensor electronics system Collaborate with departs including Software Algorithm Control, Mechanical Engineering, Product Know-How, Innovation and groups from the Electronics Division to create prototypes and support product development projects Optimisation of the complete sensor performance Continuous sensor improvement Creating sensor actuator system designs including all necessary aspects for electrical, electromagnetic and electromechanics functionality Responsible for the architecture and implementation of the sensor electronics hardware Hybrid working, office in Wellingborough Requirements Practical mindset ability to apply theoretical knowledge into practical research and development and testing.
Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or similar.
