Job summary Are you a registered Nurse interested in pursuing a career as a Health Visitor?
We're recruiting aDevelopment Community Staff Nurse in Bracknell, a role offering a fast-tracked pathway to theSpecialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) course to qualify as a Health Visitor.
You'll work as a staff nurse and be supported through a competency framework, which will prepare you to undertake the SCPHN course.
An enthusiastic member of our team, passionate about helping young children & families, you'll work with health visitors to deliver high-quality care as part of the Healthy Child Programme.
You'll support the Community Nursery Nurses and shadow Health Visitors to gain insight into the role.
You'll be based in Bracknell, and much of your work will be in the community, including in family homes and well baby clinics.
You'll enjoy using your strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with your team, service users and a range of agencies & professionals.
Having gained a strong foundation of knowledge, you'll have opportunity to begin the full time, funded SCPHN course at Oxford Brookes or Bucks New University whilst on a paid student contract with the Trust.
We welcome full time and part time applications from a minimum of 30 hrs a week.
Our service operates Mon- Fri from 9am-5pm.

Main duties of the job Support families in various community settings, following the guidance of the Health Visitor, while considering the diverse social, health, and wellbeing needs of the community.
Plan and deliver health activities for children and families, including group sessions, child health clinics, developmental reviews, and one-on-one support.
Help families using the Solihull Approach for behaviour management, parenting skills, and care programs, especially for vulnerable families identified by the Health Visitor.
Promote breastfeeding and strengthen parent-infant relationships by applying UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
Collaborate with other agencies to provide seamless support for children and families, under the direction of the Health Visitor.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse or midwife Desirable Educated to degree level Mentoring qualification or equivalent.

Ability and willingness to travel across the BHFT footprint of HV services.
