As a Development Baker, you will be instrumental in creating kitchen samples for customer submission meetings, aligning with the requirements set by the NPD Technologist and NPD Manager.
This role involves close collaboration with various departments including Production, Purchasing, Technical, Commercial, Finance, Planning, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities: - Produce all "kitchen samples" and manage key timings/workload.
- Maintain ingredient and packaging traceability, allergen segregation, and stock rotation.
- Ensure a clean and organised work environment, including weekly deep cleans.
- Assist with sample preparation, including boxing, labelling, and addressing.
- Support team efforts to meet project deadlines and customer demands.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Manage consumables and ingredient stock levels.
- Oversee NPD freezer organisation and sample disposal.
- Participate in trials, launches, and ad-hoc project work.
- Comply with food safety, quality, and legality policies.
Skills and Experience: - Essential: - Experience in the food industry, ideally within bakery.
- Knowledge of bakery ingredient functionality and HACCP principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Food Hygiene qualification.
- Attention to detail, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and motivate others.
- Innovative and creative mindset.
Desirable: - Degree in a relevant scientific subject.
Performance Indicators: - Timely attendance at team meetings.
- Effective communication regarding recipe issues and stock usage.
- Maintenance of an orderly kitchen and stock rotation.
- Support for team efforts and market trend awareness.
Health & Safety Compliance: - Adherence to company handbook guidelines.
- Reporting of accidents and near-misses.
- Safe use of factory equipment and compliance with safety instructions.
