Guidant Global has partnered with a highly reputable Ministry of Defence organisation in the UK, and our client is seeking a proficient Development and Production Test Engineer with expertise in Electronic/Electrical engineering.
The role will entail technical support to the manufacturing test of weapons sub-systems in production and development tests and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and subsystem levels.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
What we're looking for: The ideal candidate should possess an HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualification or an equivalent degree and substantial experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacturing and testing.
Measurement and testing principles, along with the use of necessary equipment, is an asset.
Knowledge of the customary CADMID product lifecycle pertaining to test equipment is deemed advantageous.
RF and microwave technology would be highly beneficial, particularly at the subsystem level.
Environmental testing, which includes ESS (Environmental Stress Screening), would be considered beneficial for this role.
Electronic Component level fault finding High Voltage training/awareness SAP and MS Office Skills Manual handling and ESD training.
Medical requirements None: Health surveillance requirements What you'll get to do as a Development and Production Test Engineer - Electronic/Electrical: In this role, the candidate will provide Test Engineering support during the Design and Development phases, from the initial concept through to the Production Readiness Review and release to Operations.
They will support the introduction of Test Facilities, ensuring that configuration control of equipment and facilities is in place prior to use, including generating supporting test specifications and operator instructions.
The candidate will also support the testing of electrical and electronic weapon systems and sub-assemblies, diagnosing production test failures down to the circuit card and potentially component level.
They will identify remedial and corrective actions in a timely manner, allowing Manufacturing to continue production in line with the programme.
Additionally, the candidate will evaluate technical problems to develop proposals for test equipment investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
They will also serve as the Test Engineering representative at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.

As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
