Desktop Support Engineer

Desktop Support Engineer (12 Month Fixed Term Contract) Summary: Provides users and customers with Level 1 support and a central point of contact for logging, tracking, managing, and resolving tickets for Operating Systems, hardware, network and applications.
Essential Functions: First point of contact for the Service Delivery team for internal and external customers.
Prompt answering of telephone calls to the Service Desk.
Log, manage, assign, and escalate tickets in the ITSM system (ServiceNow).
Ensure that all work is correctly logged, and all work carried out is recorded in the ticket.
Refer to, and follow, knowledge base articles for incident resolution and request fulfilment.
Follow all documented IT processes and procedures.
User Administration Skills: Some IT Support or Service Desk experience essential.
Customer service, analytical and problem resolution skills.
Verbal and written communications skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well with all levels of the organization.
Attention to detail.
Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and web browsers.
Ability to work within a busy pressurised team.
Strong customer service focus.
Good planning and organisational skills.
