Facades Design Manager - HYBRID BUT UK BASED with access to occasional London site visits I am looking for an experienced Senior Facades Design Manager to work within the London area / Flexible working.
This is an amazing job opportunity that gives you the flexibility of working from home, being on-site occasionally and Head Office meetings approx once a month / once every 2 months.
This is working for a long standing client of mine who are expanding and in need of someone to help run the Design Team Most of the projects are re-Cladding various properties and a previous role within cladding/EWI/rainscreen cladding/facades or any related industry is desired.
Design Manager Role Management and audit of the assigned projects in its support of design, in conjunction with the relevant commercial & site teams.
Manage specifications and drawings, including creation and amendments, where design is applicable.
Liaise with Site Managers to assist in quality of delivery of core services.
Manage, motivate and appraise staff that reports directly to the Design Manager.
Liaison with H&S and other departments as required to improve business processes and maintain quality, throughout the company.
Liaison with manufacturers, external structural engineers and architects.
Design Manager Details Collation, management and monitoring of specifications, drawings related calculations and design process from start to finish on the assigned projects, where company design is applicable.
Liaison with manufacturers and project teams including distribution of relevant documentation.
Respond to technical queries and make recommendations to resolve problems.
Respond to ad-hoc problems and raise with Head of Design accordingly.
Understand commercial implications of risks, issues and recommendations.
Management and monitoring of design specifications and drawings for other external/sub-contract works (i.e.
windows, roofing, M&E), etc.
Key tasks Visit sites on a planned and ad-hoc basis.
Attend regular meetings with Site Teams, as required.
Attend Client Design Meetings Resolve site issues and make recommendations for future changes to Head of Design.
Management of direct reporting staff Design Manager Specifics Technical qualifications.
Experienced design manager, within environmental construction projects.
CSCS card.
DSB checked as required for specific sites (e.g.
schools).
General IT: Competent user MS Excel, MS Word, Microsoft Outlook email and calendars.
Competent user Project Probe.
