Job overview Working Full Time: 37.5 hours per week We are looking for a suitably experienced, innovative and enthusiastic nurse to take up the role of Deputy Ward Manager on Care of the Elderly Ward 51.You will be committed in supporting your ward/department manager and your team by taking the lead in areas of education, development of staff and through providing management support in the organisation of the clinical areas over the 24 hour ward cycle, to always ensure the highest standards of care is given to patients and their families.
Main duties of the job You will assist in maximising best use of clinical resources, in the monitoring and evaluation of patient flow, admission and discharge planning and support the initiation of improvements.
Ensure patient records are maintained and stored in accordance with the Trusts policy, taking accountability for the collection, collation, evaluation and reporting of information.You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with patients, relatives and carers to always ensure their involvement in the decisions about treatment, planning and the delivery of their care.
You will assist your manager and work collaboratively with your team, other professionals and agencies to always ensure the patient's needs are met, especially in relation to their on-going health care requirements, their transfer and their discharge planning.You will participate in supporting the patient and public involvement activities in the ward/department area, leading to service improvement.
