Job summary We are looking a department leader to join our dual purpose outpatient and medical day case unit at Berwick InfirmaryWe hold multiple clinics of varied specialities Monday to Friday and excellent communication skills are required when working with multiple teamsOur medical day case unit provides treatment locally for patients requiring drug infusions, venesection and blood transfusion ect.
We work hard to ensure that patients can have their treatments locally, bringing in new treatments with the support of specialist teams.
This is a unique post as staff cover both OPD and medical day case areas with a hugs variety of treatments and development of a unique skill set.This is an exciting time to join our team as we prepare to move into our new hospital with the development of additional services and treatments.The post holder will ensure safe, efficient and holistic care for patients attending clinics for multiple specialities and assess, plan and evaluate care in our nurse led medical day case unit.
Main duties of the job Manage the treatment and care of patients who attend our nurse led medical day case unit, liaising with speciality teams to provide safe and efficient care.Responsible for the daily running of the out patient department, ensuring safe staffing levels and supporting staff on a daily basis.Working closely with multiple teams, providing education and support to the local team to allow us to provide safe care in a rural location.Provide highest standards of clinical practice and act as a role model to othersAdapting to the changing environment and supporting the team via QI projects and service developmentControl workload and manage duties by identifying networks of support for yourself and other employeesDelegates to member of the team About us We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country.
