Main duties of the job The Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse will be working within the DTC Ward & Ward Services and will be accountable to the DTC Ward Services Sister, working within the Surgical Division.
Experienced practitioner in Ambulatory Care/Surgical Services.Day to day operational management of DTC Ward.
To support the band 7 in the delivery of the service by the team or area that you are responsible for or have been delegated the responsibilityHigh standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience and the patient journeyMonitoring key quality and performance indicators and service pressures and recommending /implementing actions to address them.Ensuring necessary / appropriate equipment is available for management treatment needs of the patients covered within the ward area.Reporting on workforce requirements for meeting service demandLine management of staff working within the service areaResponsible for staff supervision, annual appraisal, management of attendance and performance, and identifying and facilitating staff training needs.Supporting the band 7 in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.

Person Specification Training & Qualifications Essential Able to demonstrate a good command of the English Language both written and verbal Professional UK registration NMC, HPC Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership, or equivalent eg NVQ 3, experience Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent study or work experience Formal training &/or experience in mentorship Desirable Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience Experience & Knowledge Essential Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile Completed clinical placements in a variety of areas Knowledge of the management of in-patients and outpatients including evidence based strategies.
Knowledge and experience of a range of approaches to the management of patients utilising clinical reasoning.
