Job summary Deputy Divisional Director for Quality and Nursing (Planned Care), Band 8bAn exciting opportunity has arisen to work with and lead a dynamic and high-profile team within the Medicine Division as the Deputy Director of Quality & Nursing for NHS Gloucestershire Hospitals.The post requires someone with the ability to think and act strategically, set direction in a complex environment and manage relationships with a wide range of senior colleagues.
You will have high level analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and a strong understanding of clinical specialty management across several specialties at once.
You will have experience of delivering programmes of work and leading teams.Expected Interview Date: 18/12/2024 Main duties of the job You will need to be enthusiastic and driven, with the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve what is required for our patients and your services.
You will have demonstrable and credible experience of senior management roles in the health sector.With excellent communication skills you will need to be able to establish your credibility at all levels internally and externally, and be able to quickly build relationships within your own team and the wider organization.
Both a flexible 'can do' attitude and a strong focus on delivery are essential.
This role involves cross site working and is one of the two Deputies to the Divisional Director of Quality & Nursing.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse 1st Degree Level or Equivalent Experience Evidence of relevant post graduate clinical education.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Recognised leadership / management qualification Teaching and Assessing Qualification Desirable Master's Degree or working towards Experience Essential Suitable management experience in a senior role.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of current developments in nursing and more widely in the NHS including monitoring, reporting, safety and quality along with an understanding of contemporary issues.
Able to manage self and demonstrate ability to communicate effectively during difficult and challenging situations both with and across all teams.
Good understanding of financial and budget management.
Demonstrable change management and project management experience.
Leading and chairing meetings and able to hold others to account Experience of working across a wide range of services within the health care environment.
Knowledge Essential Able to plan divisional workloads and supervise staff at all levels and provide effective feedback on performance.
Ability to work effectively within a team.
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and able to deliver presentations to a wide range of stakeholders Able to audit practice and make recommendation for change.
Good business planning skills; able to plan patient pathways and operational flow.
