Deputy Community Nursing Team Leader

Job summary The post holder will ensure the provision of cost effective, efficient and appropriate high-quality care within their District Nursing Team.
They are responsible for ensuring the quality of the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs and quality assurance within the team.
The deputy community nurse team leader will assist in leading a nursing team within an identifiable area alongside the team leader.
They will support the professional and clinical development of team members, promote evidence-based practice and act as an accountable role model.
The post holder will deputise in the absence of the team leader.
They will ensure that together with their team members that they act in accordance with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.

Completion of or working towards SPQ qualification at the point of application is desirable.
Condition of appointment will be dependant upon completion of the SPQ qualification within an agreed time frame.
Main duties of the job Assess, develop and implement nursing care plans with patients Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients and team members To participate in audits To provide day-to-day line and operational management for a team of registered and unregistered nurses in the absence of the team leader.
To prioritise their own workload and the work of the team The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Desirable IT skills Qualifications Essential NMC Registered Nurse & currently registered with the NMC District nursing qualification or working towards Evidence of post registration and portfolio development Diploma level education or above Desirable SPQ Qualification Specialist Clinical Training Management Qualification Experience in continuing healthcare Experience Essential Relevant experience at band 5 level Caseload Management Staff caseload supervision Evidence of team leading and working as part of an MDT Evidence of leading change or new initiatives Evidence of supervision and development of junior staff Desirable Involved in undertaking a TNA
