Job Description I am recruiting a Deputy Chief Economist for an Infrastructure bank in Leeds.
The role:
Accountable for high quality economic and analytical professional advice and expertise to decision-making and governance.Provide strategic and operational direction within the Impact Function and with other senior leaders, aligned to the Bank's Impact Framework, when making and shaping investment decisions, ensuring impact assessments are robust and transparent.Ensure Impact Assessments are robust and transparent by providing high-quality economic, impact and additionality advice and expertise, including a methodological development of metrics.Be accountable for our Monitoring and Evaluations approach including embedding evaluations and learning within the Bank, which support robust reporting and communications of our impact.Network and engage with analytical leaders in relevant Whitehall infrastructure departments, Public Finance Institutions, academics, and other external experts and stakeholders.Lead a high performing multi-disciplinary team of analysts, economists and sector specialists from the private sector and civil service.Provide valued thought leadership and specialist expertise on Net Zero and regional and economic growth in an infrastructure context, both internally and externally, drawing on own expert knowledge and experience and strong networks and relationships.Maintain relationships to ensure executive committee members and the Board and Bank's operations understand impact, additionality and evaluation in order to help embed it into Bank's DNA.The Successful Applicant You will have:
Strong track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams of analysts in a dynamic, delivery focused and commercial environment, especially in the context of infrastructure, energy, local and regional growth or technologies for Net Zero.Strong economic/analytical skills with the ability to organise and bring together high-quality analysis & raise analytical capability and skills.Direct expertise and experience in applying appraisal and evaluation approaches and principles, for example Green Book appraisals and analysis of cost-benefit assessments, as well as leading on monitoring and evaluation strategy.Experience with ExCo and Senior Leadership in influencing and communicating complex economic and/or financial modelling.Strong personal and strategic leadership ability, including the ability to build capability and drive excellence in performance.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and communicate to non-technical audiences, with the desire to listen and learn.What's on Offer £105,000 - £120,000 PA DOE plus bonus and excellent benefits.
