JOB PURPOSE The Depot Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Depot Manager in achieving operational efficiency and meeting KPI targets.
This role involves overseeing and motivating the team to ensure high performance, addressing day-to-day operational needs, and fostering a productive and positive work environment.
Additionally, the Depot Supervisor acts as the deputy to the Depot Manager, taking full responsibility for managing the depot during periods of the Manager's absence.

Key responsibilities include supervising depot employees, monitoring performance metrics, ensuring operational compliance, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
This role is central to maintaining seamless operations and achieving overall depot goals.

YOUR JOB Your responsibilities will be as follows :
Depot Operations : Support smooth operations, including tray-washing, equipment rental/repair, and maintaining hygiene.

Performance Management : Assist the Depot Manager in achieving KPI targets and analyzing operational data.

Customer & Partner Relations : Build strong relationships with customers, 3rd-party partners, and supply chain stakeholders.

Asset Management : Ensure accurate implementation of asset protocols with the Equipment Control Team.

Policy Compliance : Enforce HSE, hygiene, and HR policies across the Depot.

Team Leadership : Foster a positive workplace, lead and develop the team, and deputize for the Depot Manager when needed.

HSHE Compliance : Manage accident prevention, risk assessments, and RIDDOR reporting.

Financial Oversight : Monitor budgets and control costs to balance business and customer needs.

Collaboration : Work closely with Equipment Control, HSHE, HR, suppliers, and transport providers.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS Education and Skills: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with qualifications in Maths and English.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Intermediate Level).
Competence in using Microsoft Outlook (email).
Professional Attributes: Confident and professional approach.
A conscientious, highly motivated self-starter with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong natural leadership skills with the ability to inspire, lead, and develop employees.
Experience: Previous experience as a Supervisor in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Experience in the Retail, Logistics, or Manufacturing industry is advantageous.
Certifications and Operational Skills: First Aid certification.
Possession of a full FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence.
Ability to operate PPT (Powered Pallet Trucks).
COMPENSATION The annual salary is £28,723.50.

The current rates of pay are:
£14.73 per hour for day shifts (06:00 – 22:00).
£15.73 per hour for night shifts (22:00 – 06:00).
This is based on a 37.5-hour workweek and includes weekends and bank holidays.
