Packaging Demand Planner Hybrid: Hertfordshire (1 day per week in-office) Industry: Fresh Produce Job Summary We are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic candidate to fill the position of Packaging Demand Planner on behalf of our longstanding client.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the supply and procurement of our client's entire range of packaging.
In this role, you will be tasked with ensuring accurate packaging stock management, forecasting, and information alignment with business needs.
You will also collaborate with internal and external teams to fulfil retailer orders and packhouse operational requirements, manage pricing, and support new product lines.
The role requires maintaining accurate systems data, optimising packaging distribution, and driving business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end packaging supply in line with demand.
Support and maintain supply agreements and pricing, aligned with forecast volumes.
Coordinate packaging scheduling and forecasting to ensure launch deadlines and quality standards are met.
Align sales SKU forecasts with packhouse production requirements.
Collaborate with Finance to ensure stock alignment and minimise annual adjustments.
Manage packaging stock levels and place production orders with suppliers.
Track and report on packaging costs, stock values, and any impact on the business.
Ensure clear communication between the packhouses, stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
Assist in the artwork approval process and new product line procedures.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive packaging innovations.
Review and evaluate KPIs with external stakeholders to optimize packaging performance.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends and mitigate risks.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Minimum 3 years' experience as a successful Demand Planner in the FMCG sector.
Advanced Excel proficiency, with expertise in data analysis, automation, and forecasting.
Preferred knowledge of packaging materials (rigid/flexible plastics, carton board, labels, corrugate) and production methods.
Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.
