Our Offer We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Defence Systems Engineer with expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to join our dynamic team in Bristol.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of complex defence systems, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the application of MBSE methodologies to develop comprehensive system models for defence projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define system requirements, architectures, and interfaces.
Conduct system design, analysis, and trade studies to ensure optimal solutions.
Develop and maintain system documentation, including specifications, design descriptions, and test plans.
Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities.
Support the lifecycle management of defence systems, from concept through deployment and sustainment.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in Defence Systems Engineering, with a strong focus on MBSE.
Proficiency in MBSE tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, or similar.
Solid understanding of systems engineering principles, processes, and standards (e.g., INCOSE, ISO/IEC 15288).
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama) and configuration management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Security clearance or the ability to obtain it.
Desirable: Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
Experience in agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with defence standards and regulations.
Knowledge of simulation and modelling tools.
